Winter News Letter 2024

Happy New Year to you all! I hope the festive season has treated you well and you feel ready to embrace what ever 2024 has to throw at us.

Over the last year I been working hard to create a brand that aligns with my goals and beliefs as a practitioner, and delivers the best service to you the clients. This has involved some trial and error, investigating other treatment modalities, and personal growth. I now proudly offer a variety of Bowen Technique variations, Scar Therapy and Red Light Therapy, this enables me to deliver bespoke light touch treatments that can address the patients’ (human or canine) needs on a treatment by treatment basis, allowing the patient to be the best version of themself at any given time. As I feel there is a firm direction to my work now I felt it was only fitting to have a rebrand and start the year fresh so look out for the new logo and plenty of upcoming information on what my treatment offer is.

NEW TREATMENT:

Lymphatic Bowen for sinus relief. As we move into the winter season your body has to work hard to rid itself of unwanted toxins, bacteria and virus’s. It relies on your lymphatic system for this, and the drainage of sinus’ is a large part of this. Using my recently learnt Lymphatic Bowen skills I can manually help drain and clear your sinus’ and in turn this may speed up your recovery from illness. For those happy to have an integrated treatment we can also include red light therapy to reduce inflammation in the sinus’ and facial cupping to stimulate lymphatic flow. Get in touch for more information on using Treatment Table services to stay well this winter.

Finding Energy through the winter months.

Cold Weather and less day light hours often lead to a dip in energy levels over winter. It may sound obvious but our first port of call should be looking at improving what we put into our bodies during the winter months. Fruit and Veg have lots of vital nutrients to fight off colds and virus’. eating nutritious filling meals should stop you from snacking and comfort eating less healthy options. BHF Have a great piece of how to eat healthy through the winter.

Another great way to nourish your body is by adding vitamin supplements into your daily routine, however if like me, remembering to take them is a challenge then having your vitamins as an IV or injection may be a better option. I have a regular boost of Magnesium, Vitamin D and B12 with Amy (lmf_aesthetics) at Livelong.

Natural remedies are also useful during the winter months both to prevent and treat illness, and maintain good energy levels. Neals Yard do a great Defend and Protect range as preventative products as well as remedies to help you recover from illness . It is worth remembering that essential oils such as Lemongrass, Juniper, Pine, Rosemary, Clove and Thyme are energising. Essential oils can be diffused, or used topically in a carrier oil, again Neals yard do a good reasonably priced range of pulse roll on blends, one of which is the energy blend.

Lastly on my list of simple energisers is Red Light Therapy. Red Light Therapy increases white blood cell production, stimulates the immune system and increases cell regeneration which will help keep the winter nasties at bay, but the other big hitter for red light therapy is that it stimulates the brain to produce ‘happy hormones’ such as dopermine, oxytocin, norepinephrine and serotonin. The increased production of these chemicals keeps you happy, energised and can help inhibit the production of stress hormones. I offer Red Light Treatments as a stand alone at Livelong and always have a small red light device with me during my mobile clinic for those who wish to sample the therapy. Alternatively you can buy your own light and use the code: TTBOWEN here for a 10% discount. A great starter light is the TARGET 2.0.

Finally….

It wouldn’t be Treatment Table without some dog talk. I’d like to introduce our new dog Esse. She coming up to 11 months and whilst she’s settled in really well, the trials and tribulations of adolescence are well and truly kicking in along with a good dose of hormones!!! I’m hopeful she will be my next agility prospect given Remus is now entering the twilight of his career, but for now look out on the socials for her being offered Canine Bowen Technique and Red Light Therapy to support her through this time of change and development.

In recent months I have also been voted in as chairperson of the Canine Bowen Technique Association, an organisation that strives to ensure all its practitioners operate at the highest possible level in terms of not only how they offer Canine Bowen Technique but also in upholding key values in ensuring the welfare, choice, and dignity of the dogs we work with. This is a position I hold both with great pride and understanding of the responsibility attached to it.

I hope you have a fantastic start to the year. Don’t forget to tag us on your socials after a treatment, and keep your eyes on the Treatment Table Instagram, Facebook and other social channels to see what I’m up to both at Livelong, and on the road!!
